This release — exclusively available for our Lilly 2020/2021 Members — is a very special one. It is an unblended 3,5 year old beer that was finished for half a year in Vin Jaune barrels before being bottled, to give the beer a unique character.
In the aroma and taste I detect dusty old cellar, caramel and pecan notes. The beer and the Vin Jaune characteristics complement each other really well. The complex and dry mature beer goes well with the slightly oxidized notes and sweet-like feel of the Vin Jaune. The aftertaste is very complex and long.
At this moment the beer has a lot of flavour from the Vin Jaune barrels. The beer is well balanced already, but I can also imagine you would let the beer age for a few months up to a few years to let the base beer shine through a little bit more.
Store our beers upright or lying down in a cool, dark place. Our beers are best enjoyed between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius.
